Mindset Monday - Summer 2025

Join UTSA Wellness Manager, Bryanda Dominguez every first Monday of each month to start with a motivational quote, a mindset research takeaway, or mindset exercises. Mindset Mondays is an initiative that seeks to normalize the practice of mindfulness in the workplace. Adopting Mindful Mondays means making a commitment to yourself that you'll practice mindfulness once a week. The side benefit? This helps build your practice over time. Here are the topics we will be talking about in our sessions.

Stretch breaks are designed to support your day-to-day well-being by providing opportunities to engage in brief, facilitated stretch activities four times a month — now offered entirely virtually for greater convenience and flexibility.

Led by certified instructors Tania Palacios and Adiba Twigg, these virtual sessions are designed to help you reduce tension, boost circulation, and improve mental clarity.

Stretch breaks are flexible, come-and-go sessions, allowing you to join at any time during the hour and stay for as long as works for you.

Join virtually for a guided session of gentle, mindful movements designed to help you feel refreshed and re-energized.

2/5/2025 - Health at Your Desk - Move beyond good posture to prevent pain.

  • Is too much sitting contributing to your chronic aches and pains? Spending hours at a desk can lead to pain throughout the upper body and lower back. Proper posture is essential, but it’s only the first step towards improving back and neck health. Join us for an interactive workshop to learn simple techniques for reducing strain, improving range of motion, and increasing strength. We’ll also provide a conservative care option to help stop pain at the source.

3/20/2025 - Lacrosse Ball- Complimentary Lunch N Learn plus Injury Assessments.

  • Ever felt like you just need to work out some knots? Discomfort in your body can be a real pain. Even the most basic daily routines can become a burden because of common back, neck, and other musculoskeletal injuries. Join Airrosti for a complimentary and interactive session from 11:00-12:00 PM to learn about the benefits of utilizing a lacrosse ball to help relieve common types of soft tissue pain. Followed by 15-minute complimentary injury assessments. Time slots for injury assessments are from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM. FREE lunch will be provided for all participants.

4/23/2025 - Tech Neck- Learn how to relieve and prevent tech neck pain.

  • Spending two-thirds of our day with our necks angled downward while working on our computers or texting on our phones can lead to chronic pain and even result in more serious, long-term injuries. Join Airrosti for an educational session to learn how to prevent and relieve the pain associated with repetitive neck stress. Please note additional requirements to register.

SA0475 Heartsaver First Aid, CPR and AED (formerly CPR/First Aid)

Heartsaver First Aid, CPR and AED (formerly CPR/First Aid)

This is an American Heart Association Course - Heart Saver First Aid with CPR & AED. The Heartsaver First Aid Course teaches how to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes of an emergency until professional help arrives. Course content includes General Principles of First Aid, Medical and Injury Emergencies. CPR and AED, and Environmental Emergencies are also included in the course. Upon successful completion of this course, participants receive a course completion card valid for two years. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. Skills practice requires working on your hands and knees, bending, standing, and lifting. If you have any physical conditions that might prevent these activities, please let instructor know prior to the start of class. Instructor may be able to adjust the equipment for back, knee, or hip problems. Also, please let instructor know if you are allergic to latex.
