Texas Cybersecurity Awareness Training 2024-2025

The growing volume and sensitivity of the data being shared within an organization calls for strict privacy policies and protective software. As an employee, you play a major role in ensuring the security of the organization. An organization may have the most advanced security systems installed, but a single error made by an employee has the potential to undermine even the most forward-thinking strategy. In this course, you will learn what makes you vulnerable and the seemingly normal behaviors you may engage in on a daily basis that can be adjusted to make your workplace more secure. You’ll learn how to identify whether or not information is confidential, and the tactics criminals often use to gain access to private data. Last, you’ll learn what you can do to make a difference in securing your workplace, as well as how to properly respond and report to data breaches within the organization.


By completing this course participants will be able to:

  • Describe the importance of data security
  • Identify vulnerabilities in daily behaviors in the online environment
  • Differentiate between confidential and on the record information
  • List key tactics criminals use to gain access to private data
  • Explain several ways to secure the workplace from data security breaches
  • Formulate a proper response to a data breach including correct reporting procedures

RG0106 Youth Protection Training 2024-2025

Youth Protection Training 2024-2025

Instructions: Senate Bill 1414 requires all who work/volunteer* in campus programs involving contact with minors complete SB1414: Youth Protection Training. This training must be completed within the first five (5) days of employment (with the program). You must review the SB1414: Youth Protection Training lesson and pass the SB1414: Youth Protection Training-Quiz with a 70% or better. 

The Program Operator/Director/Coordinator is required to submit a verification form to the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) within five (5) days of the start of the program verifying that each employee/volunteer* of the campus program has complied with the training requirement.

*Note: UTSA expanded the training requirement to include those in unpaid positions (e.g., volunteers)

Research and Conflict of Interest

This mandatory training is designed to:

  • Explain Conflict of Interest (COI) and Conflict of Commitment (COC);
  • Outline what information must be disclosed;
  • Provide information on applicable policies and regulations; and
  • Provide other important information related to COI, COC, and the disclosure process.

Research Security Training

This training course is mandated by the U.S. Federal government for all institutions of higher education who receive federal research grants and contracts.

SA0480 UTSA Athletics Return to Work

UTSA Athletics Return to Work

This course is especially for Athletics personnel as we return to campus during COVID-19. The course covers important information for Athletics employees about what Coronavirus is and how it spreads, and about the importance of key best practices to limit the spread of the virus. There is a three-phased transition plan for return to campus. Details are included in this course. Important daily screenings are an important part of the safe transition plan and include protocol about temperature and symptom checks, personal hygiene and equipment. A listing of key Athletics contacts is also included for any follow-up or concerns.


By completing of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify the signs and symptoms of coronavirus
  2. Explain several key best practices for prevention of the spread of the virus
  3. Abide by the three-phase transition plan for Athletics to return to campus
  4. Describe the process for remote and in-person screening for student athletes
  5. Follow the recommended daily practices to prevent the spread of coronavirus

Target Audience: This course is intended for student athletes and athletic staff.
